The CBC is a family-oriented fundraiser consisting of running, paddling and swimming events to honor and support those affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers. We will be celebrating 21 years in 2019!
The CBC was started in 1999 in honor of Nancy Chellemi, mother of two, who died of leukemia in 1998. Each year the CBC reunites old friends and forges new friendships all while having a fun day at the beach and raising money for those less fortunate.
Money is raised through participant registration, contributions and sponsorships. All proceeds are donated to the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Check out http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org to see how the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offers patient services, disseminates information, and supports research involving blood-related cancers. More than $350,000 has been donated to the Society in the previous 19 years the CBC has been held.

OCEAN RACE COURSE & RACE DETAILS
Three bright-colored buoys will be placed outside the surf zone. One will be placed directly out from the starting line while the second and third buoys will be placed at the halfway points of the 1 and 2K distances, respectively. All paddlers and swimmers must go around the first buoy before proceeding south along the course. 1K swimmers will turn around the second buoy while the 2K paddlers will turn around the third buoy. After making the turnaround, racers must go outside and around the first buoy before returning to shore. For 4K and 6K races, repeat 2K lap. On shore will be a finish line. Swimmers and paddlers must finish their races by reaching the finish line on shore; kayakers can leave their craft at the water’s edge but surfboards and SUPs must be carried across the finish line.
KAHUNA RACE DETAILS
Kahuna Event is a combined 5K run and 2K surfboard paddle, and is one continuous race, running followed by paddle.
